LinkedIn Learning subscription ending September 2025
McMaster University’s LinkedIn Learning subscription is ending on Sept. 22, 2025.
LinkedIn Learning came to McMaster as part of a three-year pilot from the Government of Ontario that provided free access to this online platform at publicly funded post-secondary institutions. That pilot ended in 2020. McMaster subsequently extended its access after the end of the provincial pilot.
The university is not renewing its campus-wide subscription for this platform as it works to find savings. This decision is in alignment with the university’s ongoing focus on balancing resources and priorities.
McMaster groups that wish to subscribe to LinkedIn Learning can email Casey Hoeve, associate university librarian, Content, Access, and Opening Licensing at McMaster University Libraries for an introduction to the vendor.
Meanwhile, work is currently underway at McMaster University Libraries in collaboration with campus partners to provide a list of teaching and learning alternatives.
Instructions to help users save their LinkedIn Learning history and related information will be added to the LinkedIn Learning LibGuide.
For more information, email McMaster’s LinkedIn Learning team.
