Services for Hamilton Health Sciences MUMC-based Staff

The McMaster University Health Sciences Library (HSL) extends a warm welcome to Hamilton Health Sciences MUMC-based staff.

The Health Sciences Library offers a variety of services designed to help you meet your information needs and to make the most of our resources in traditional and electronic formats.

The hours of operation for the following core services will be the same as the hours of operation for each service point (i.e. Service Desk)

Library Computers

Library computers are available for your use. Signs on the computers designate the functions possible for that particular workstation. Computers are available on a first come, first served basis.

You will not have access to Microsoft Office on the public computers unless you have a McMaster ID and password.

Access to McMaster’s Collection of Books and Journals

You have access to a core collection of books and electronic and paper journals. The HSL’s core collection includes resources to cover Women’s Health, Pediatrics and Neonatal/NICU. Please visit the HSL to access our collection.

You will not have desktop access to McMaster’s e-collection outside the library unless you have a McMaster appointment.

Borrowing Privileges

You may borrow print resources from the Health Sciences Library, Mills, Innis and Thode. You cannot borrow print resources that are on reserve or short term loan.

You will need your HHS ID tag with a valid hospital ID number to apply for a borrower account at the HSL’s Service Desk.

Information and Research

Service Desk Staff can assist you in identifying and locating books, journals or journal articles.
