How to Get a Library Account (Get a Barcode)
-
Students: your library barcode is printed on the front of your student card.
-
McMaster University faculty and staff: Go to UTS in Burke Science Building Rm 245 and ask for a "Working at McMaster" card. Make sure you have photo ID and your McMaster University employee number with you. UTS will create a picture ID for you which will have your barcode on the back of the card. This barcode enables you to borrow and to create a LibAccess account for access to our electronic resources.
-
Hamilton Health Sciences staff: Bring your hospital picture ID with your hospital ID number to the Circulation Desk in the Health Sciences Library. We will barcode your card so that you can borrow from McMaster University Libraries. Your barcode does not permit you to access our electronic resources.
-
Alumni: Graduates can obtain an alumni external borrower card at no charge with proof of graduation at the Mills Memorial Library. More on applying for an alumni external borrower card.
External Borrowers: External borrower cards are issued to individuals with a regular or continuing need for research and scholarly materials. The annual fee is $60 and it can be obtained at the Mills Memorial Library. More on applying for an external borrower card.
