The Health Sciences Library strives to provide fully accessible facilities and services.


The Health Sciences Library website will be unavailable for a period of time on Sunday, February 12, 2012 between 7am to 3pm. The library's resources will continue to be available through the library catalogue. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Access to the Library

Persons with disabilities have access to the main entrance of the library by taking the purple elevators in the McMaster Health Sciences Centre to the second floor.

There is an elevator to provide access to the lower level of the library, where the print collection and quiet study space is located. 

Accessible attendant washrooms are located on both levels of the library.

The information desk and group study rooms are all accessible, as is a printer on each level of the library.  In addition all major doors are button operated and all inner door numbers have Braille.

Research Assistance

Students and faculty requiring assistance should contact their program liaison librarian.

Staff at the Information Desk on the Main Floor will also assist in finding Library materials and resources.

Retrieval of Library Material

Anyone at a service point will assist you in locating and retrieving material from the Health Sciences Library.  If at all possible please contact the Library in advance of your visit to ensure that assistance and the materials are ready when you arrive.
