LibAccess for FHS Instructors and Research Affiliates
ALERT: Issues with LibAccess
Due to an unfortunate error, as of April 30, 2012 most of the McMaster LibAccess accounts have been deleted. You have two choices for regaining access to the McMaster online collections:
- Use your MACID username and password. Not sure if you have a MACID? Verify your MACID.
- Re-establish your LibAccess account by registering again using your barcode. Re-register for LibAccess.
If you don't know your barcode contact hslib@mcmaster.ca.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
What is LibAccess?
LibAccess is a service which lets you use a username and password to access McMaster’s electronic resources from off campus (with the exception of UpToDate).
How do I set up my LibAccess Account?
- If you have a MacID and Password, you can use that to login to LibAccess.
- If you don't have a MacID and Password set up a LibAccess Account below using your McMaster barcode (printed on the back of your “Working at McMaster” card).
What if I don’t know my McMaster barcode?
If you do not have a “Working at McMaster” card, you can obtain one in room 245, Burke Sciences Building. If you are unable to come to campus, contact the Health Sciences Library (mckinn@mcmaster.ca) with your name, address and employee or student number; we will look up your McMaster barcode on your behalf.
What if I don’t have a McMaster employee or student number?
Individuals who are affiliated with the University but do not have McMaster employee or student numbers must contact the program administrator in the appropriate department, school or program or the Health Research Services Office.
Educational Affiliation
If your affiliation with the McMaster University is through one of the Faculty of Health Sciences educational programs, schools or departments, contact your program administrator who will confirm your affiliation and submit your request for library privileges on your behalf.
Research Affiliation
If your affiliation with McMaster University is connected to a Faculty of Health Sciences research initiative, contact the Health Research Services Office (hsresadm@mcmaster.ca) and provide them with:
- your name
- your contact information (including email address and phone number)
- the title of your research project
- the name of your McMaster-affiliated Principal Investigator
- the name of the sponsoring agency. The Health Research Services Office will then confirm your affiliation and submit your request for library privileges on your behalf.
