Beginning in January 2010, the Health Sciences Library will be promoting waste reduction in the library through the go green@HSL initiative. Together with the users of our library we will do our best to reduce waste by following and promoting the motto, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Watch for employees wearing go green@HSL T-shirts every Wednesday starting January 20, 2010.

Reduce

The first step is to reduce, by making choices that limit the materials we use as consumers. Do you really need to print?

Reuse

If (and when) packaging and materials are collected, the next step toward reducing waste is to reuse what we already have, such as paper, or to choose reusable containers such as water bottles and coffee mugs.

Recycle

As a last resort, if we can't reduce or reuse, then we do our best to recycle materials.
