Health Sciences Users Committee

Terms of Reference

The Health Sciences Library Users Committee is one of three such committees on campus, the others being the Arts Library User Committee and the Science & Engineering Library User Committee. The Chair, one other member and the Health Sciences Library Director will serve as representatives to the University Libraries Committee, which is chaired by the Provost and Vice-President (Academic), or the Dean of Graduate Studies as the Provost's delegate.

Functions:

To provide a link with the users of the Library; to act in an advisory capacity to the Health Sciences Library Director in matters pertaining to collections, budget development, policies and priorities, and rules and regulations.

Composition:

Chair Appointed by committee consensus from the elected membership of the committee for a term of three years, once renewable.

Elected Members The Striking Committee to nominate seven full time faculty members, of whom one will be the Chair. Members are to be elected by the faculty members at large of the Faculty of Health Sciences. One member will be from Nursing, one will be from Rehabilitation Science, and one will be located at an affiliated hospital. Faculty members of the Committee should serve a term of three years, once renewable.
Students One student representative shall be nominated annually from each of the following educational programs: Bachelor of Health Sciences, Health Sciences Graduate, Midwifery, Postgraduate Medicine, Rehabilitation Science, Undergraduate Biochemistry, Undergraduate M.D., Undergraduate Nursing.
